The "Pillowcase Dress"

So how long have I been talking about this dang dress? I feels like years ago, that I said I wanted to make one. Well I did it! I set out to do what I said I was going to do. It only took 3 years. (Well in my defense, I did just barely get a sewing machine.) Although, I didn't actually use a pillowcase. I had this fabric left over from an apron I started (surprise, surprise). I don't know about any of you, but I hate it when I have so much fabric left over. I feel like it is such a waste! Oops, sorry I got sidetracked... Anyways... Here it is. My very first Pillowcase Dress! Please don't mind all of the wrinkles... Kodi Lynn wore it to dinner. Haha... I will get a better picture of her modeling it.

Finally! I found it!

As you all know it is almost impossible to find the Wii, Wii fit, or Mario Cart. Somehow I did it though. I called a Gamestop yesterday (after getting a tip from a worker a few days before). And they had just gotten a few in at another store, on the far west side of Austin. I loaded up the kids and hurried out there. 45 min later I had arrived at the end of a pretty grouchy line. I thought I had made the trip in vain, until the salesman returned with mine in hand. YES! So now I am the proud owner of a wii fit, and can't wait to start working out!

Sew fun!

Tiffany (and family) came up to visit for the weekend and we had "sew" much fun! haha...cheesy, I know! Really, thank you Tiffany for teaching me to sew and for having SOO much patience everytime I messed up! Well, here are a few of our finished projects...
Aprons for two of my cousins, they're sisters and so these coordinating aprons will be perfect. We made the aprons a little different than the other ones that Tiff made before. One apron has only one pocket on top and the other one has a big flower on the chest instead of any pockets. Cute little differences!! We made some cute little flowers to spruce up onesies and tanks! ...and a few of these pillows for heating pads (the ones like Grandma Bowler makes!!) if you look closely they all have a cute little fabric flower in the corner. Thanks again Tiff!! Can't wait for our next sewing day...

The Perfect Child!

I know, I know, I am that Mom. But who really knows a better "almost" three year old? Kodi Lynn and I have our little routines through out the day. One is cleaning her room. We usually pick up toys as the day goes on, but before story time, and bed we CLEAN her room. Well... This afternoon she had toys everywhere. No, I mean everywhere. So I asked her to clean up her toys, and pick up her room. She asked me for help, but I was cleaning up my own messes, and before I knew it she was coming to get me to show me what she had done...

How great was that? She was so happy with herself. I was so proud of her. Although our bed time routine was cut a little short. Can't have it all I guess.

Re-cap

Well, I have been using my video camera a lot lately. Thanks to being digital-les. Is that a word? Probably not. Anyways... I have a few pictures from the past few weeks. Degeers and Daddy out at Lake Travis. It's a nice free spot we found with the Carmack's. Miles enjoying the dirt. Hehehe. He was so funny. He even learned to "potty" in the "woods". Is that T.M.I. Being the Worlds Greatest Mother. I got this picture of Degan. He has no fear of the water, and really thinks he can swim. Yikes Carys, Kodi Lynn, and Deegers helping Daddy make pancakes. Yummy! Well That's all I have for now. We are lucky to have family who loves to visit! Thanks Family! Yall come back soon, ya hear!

Busy, Busy, Busy!

Well my camera is still broken. I have to mail it in, because Circuit City won't take it back. Blah... Other than that though we have been very busy. It has been a month now since we moved in to our house here in Round Rock. (7th best place to live in the US, thank you very much.) Bobby works a lot, and we are trying to put the house together. We have bits and pieces done, but each room still needs things here and there. No one ever told me how hard it is to decorate a whole house. Will I ever be done? Don't get me wrong I am not complaining. If I didn't have all of this to do, I think I would be going insane. It hasn't set in yet that I am so far away from California. Yes I miss my friends and family like crazy, but I have had so much to do that I haven't had time think about it I guess. When we are not decorating, we are exploring. We have Austin 20 min. South, and Lake Travis 30 min. West. Both are beautiful places to visit. We also have great shopping. We live less than 2 miles away from the outlet mall, and 30 min away from Pottery Barn Outlet! What more could I ask for. I also have been very lucky to have family come and visit. Both Lynda, and Tad's Family have come to visit twice, and My Mom once. Like I said... Very, very busy!!! We miss everyone like crazy, and hope you all come out soon and help us stay busy ;-) LOL!

Why me?

I'm not m.i.a... I have no camera! I was taking pictures of Lynda's girls at the park, when all of a sudden my camera decided to break. I don't know what happened. One second I was shooting video, and the next it was humming, and blinking on and off. Hopefully it is still covered be warranty. Wish me luck.
