Grand Cayman

7 days in Paradise! This place was great. It was so nice to have an adult trip, with nothing to worry about but the number of my SPF!
The view at 7 mile Beach
Bobby "climbing" a coconut tree Our last dinner out. If you don't count the Wendy's run we made when the power went out. We were watching the lightning in the distance There was no Texas, so we had to do the next best place. We went to Hell... Out by our Hotel... Looking for shells. This is our Hotel. The Morritts. Tad caught this sucker and cooked him up. He was pretty good too!

Gone, Home, Busy

Being M.I.A is not such a big deal for me. Most everyone knows that... But here is my latest excuse... We up and left to California on May 4th. It was a big surprise, even to me. Bobby woke up, checked the boards, and told me to pack for Ca. We had a blast! We just got home last Sunday night. It was bittersweet coming back... We are happy to be back in our house, but miss everyone in California. The kids do to. They keep asking for Letti's house and Nan! I am still trying to get everything that we packed in their rightful places. My least favorite part of a trip. I will post pictures as soon as I get them loaded on to the computer.

Degan Robert Bowler

Fun Facts:
  • Degan is hardwired a "Boy". He loves to watch "crash". (Any show that shows things crashing, like Nitro Circus)
  • He can spend the whole day outside just pushing his Tonka dump truck.
  • He LOVES fruit snacks.
  • Degan is so independent... He has to walk everywhere by himself, and do everything by himself!
  • Big time "fomer". (train lover)
  • Such a smarty. He has a fantastic memory, counts, and talks up a storm.
  • Daddy's #1 fan, and the other way around too!

Those are just a few thing that make him so special... I could go on and on and on! I am so happy that he is in our life. He is such a fantastic kid!

Happy Birthday Degers!

Time machine?

Good bye March... there seems to be a pattern with all of these months... The are all flying bye! Before we know it summer will be here and gone, and then Christmas will pass, and we'll be saying hello to 2010. How do you slow down time? Well until I can get my hands on a time machine, I guess I'll just have to slow down. Here are some of my favorite pictures from last month...

This was a cool little hideout the Carmack girls found in New Braunsfuel (sp). All of the kids and Craig are inside, trying to make room for Kodi Lynn

Paige, Zoe and me inside the hideout
This funny woodland creature wanted to get up close and personal with Kodi... I was very nervous!
I LOVE this picture. Craig is showing Livee how to fish, and Kodi Lynn thought it was so great. I just think it's a cute little country pic!
The Von Rajc's family welcomed a cute little boy, Brocton, into the family in Feb. Kodi was so excited to hold him. She is already quite the babysitter!

Feb. 2009

Nan, Pops, Letti, and Cole came out to visit us too. We were so happy to have them, that we didn't want to share. Hahaha. Just kidding. We had a great time. We took them out to eat the first and second night, and then headed for Justin, Tx to see the rest of the Family. It was so much fun. I miss having us all together. We all have such a great time together. I know this is an odd pic. I thought it was so funny though. Tad had decided to give Heidi a hair cut himself... It was so funny. Look at all that hair. Poor girl. Tad cut pretty close a few times.
Degan enjoying bath time with Cole and Kodi
Nan and Cole having a nap... I don't know how restful it was.
Nan and Kodi Lynn
I love this picture! The Boys being Boys! They all look so happy.

Feb. 2009 ~Valentines Day~

Yes I know it is now April 2nd... And yes I have seriously neglected my blog. Here I am though posting on a very speedy February. And when I'm done maybe even a speedier March! As you can see cupid came and "heart-attacked" our home... Kodi has learned to spell and write her name. Which she is pointing out on her gift that cupid left her. "K O D I" "It's Mine!!!"
Degan is counting and collecting all of the hearts around the house. He can count so well. He can make it to 12 with very little mistakes or help.
Our holiday wall. Notice our cute V-day cards. Thanks Rowdy and Norris Family!
Below: Of course Budah was attacked! He doesn't look like he minds though.
It was a nice Valentines Day! Hope you all had a nice one to.

January 2009

January was a fast month!!! I blinked and it was over. I sure hope the rest of 2009 slows down. So here is a recap of last month.
We rang in the New Year!!! I love that my Hubby can't take a simple smiley face picture! We took a bunch of Monkey's to the Zoo!
We perfected a perfect pout.
And ended the month with a fun Girls night on 6th St.

Tradition or Superstition?

Do you every wonder why we light fireworks and cheer in the New Year? Well I found some answers to those little traditions we have, and some new ones you may not have known about.

  • Kissing in the new year- We kiss those nearest and dearest to us not only to share a moment of celebration with our favorite people, but also to ensure those affections and ties will continue throughout the next 12 months, to fail to smooch your significant others at the stoke of twelve would be to set the stage for a year of coldness.
  • Stocking up: The new year must not be seen with bare cupboards, lest that be the way of things for the year. Larders must me topped up and plenty of money must be placed in every wallet in the home to ensure prosperity
  • Paying of Bills: The new year should not be begun with the household in debt, so checks should be written and mailed before Jan. 1st. Likewise, personal debt should be repaid before the New Year arrives.
  • First Footing: The first person to enter your home after the stroke of midnight will influence the year you’re about to have. Ideally he should be dark-haired, tall, and good looking. Blondes and Red heads are considered bad luck, and female “first footers” should be shooed away before they bring disaster down on the household.
  • Nothing Goes Out: Nothing - absolutely nothing, not even garbage - is to leave the house on the first day of the year. If you have presents to deliver on New Year’s Day, leave them in the car overnight… People sometimes soften this rule by saying it’s okay to remove things from the house as long as something else has been brought in first. Something must be added to the home before anything may be subtracted from it.
  • Food: Eating of Black-eyed peas on the New Years Day will attract both general good luck (financial in particular) to the one doing the dining. Other “Lucky” foods are lentil soup (because it looks like coins), pork (because poultry scratches backwards, a cow stands still, but a pig roots forward, so… those who dine on pork will be moving forward in the new year), and sauerkraut (probably because it goes well with pork).
  • Work: Do something related to your work -and be successful at it - on the first day of the year, even if you do not go near your place of work. Limit your activity to a token amount, though, because to engage in a serious work project on that day is very unlucky. Also do not do laundry , lest a member of the family be “washed away” (die) in the upcoming months.
  • New Clothes: wear something new on Jan. 1st to increase the likelihood of your receiving more new garments during the year to follow.
  • Letting the Old Year out: At midnight, all the doors of a house must be opened to let the old year escape unimpeded. He must leave before the New Year can come in, so doors are flung open to assist him.
  • Loud Noises : Make as much noise as possible! Your not just celebrating; your scaring away evil spirits, so do a darned good job of it!

Do you have any New Year traditions? I have a few... The kissing rule is a favorite, and my Grandma Lil' always made a black-eye pea stew (with ham). Both I plan to continue. Another important one is my wedding anniversary. 12/31/04. When I was a kid, we used to write our resolutions down and share them at breakfast New Year's morning. I can't wait until my kids are old enough for this one. Please share your traditions, I would love to know what you all do to ring in the New Year.

Quiet Bowler Christmas!?!? Unheard of! Well this year was just that. Very simple and very quiet.

Degan had to be woken up this year - by sis - but he quickly found that it was worth it!

Santa didn't check his list twice I see.

"Pink Puter!!!" She was so happy Noni got her exactly what she wanted. Thanks Noni.

Santa got Mommy a babysitter. Just what she needed. Hehehe. below: Noni showing of her new shirt that Santa left her.
Just a few pictures from our Day. The kids loved playing with there new toys, as did I... Thanks Mom for the camera. We had a very yummy simple ham dinner, and ended our day with a new movie. We missed our family and our friends, but it was a great first Christmas in Texas. Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!
